I know that it’s a little late, but Happy Groundhog Day!  That groundhog may have predicted an early Spring, but it’s more like late Spring already here at the beginning of February in Illinois…

This week was our annual Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, timed around the observation of the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortions in America back in 1973…

It’s been a busy, bizarre, and hectic couple of weeks, so let me just say “Happy New Year!”

Personally, I would prefer a white Christmas, but I know how much so many of you are appreciating our beautiful Autumn weather now that it’s officially turned to Winter, and I’ll just leave it at “Merry Christmas!”

My family is overjoyed because it finally snowed!  I dunno if it’s actually going to be a white Christmas (I can’t bring myself to look up the forecast and find out -- I’d rather be surprised), but it’s at least a beautiful snowy day as I write this Update, and that’s a joy for me in and of itself…

Well, I went and kinda hurt myself again…

First off, I’d like to thank all of you for giving my family two weeks off to spend together on a nice, family vacation (and if you weren’t in the service this weekend, then ask me to show you the slideshow to our fake trip to Barbados sometime)…

As I prepare to start on my annual vacation tomorrow, I’m reflecting on the fact that this has been a very busy season of life for our church family…

Wow!  This past week has been incredibly rewarding, but also incredibly busy!  Our Athens Vacation Bible School went over very well…
